| Penick Driver Head A new custom-formulated HS300 steel alloy offers the best combination of strength and modulus of any steel driver to enhance the spring face capability. This cyber steel is custom formulated at Golfsmith s request and to our knowledge does not exist outside of our production foundry. The steel was created by analyzing hundreds of combinations of elements and their interactions. The incredible strength of the billet-forged, HS300 steel face of the new FireSteel driver permits the large 300cc size, a 2.1mm-thin face and 51mm tall face height to maximize face deflection. To discourage sliced shots, the center of gravity is moved in towards the heel from the face centerline 5mm, and the face angle is set 1 degree closed. Shaft Matching: Performs well with a wide range of shafts -- from ultralight to lightweight graphites with medium-to-low torques and mid bend points. |
